About the courseCarol Kibble Sunset

What is the appeal of this increasingly popular medium? Perhaps one reason is the beauty of the pastels themselves. Carol is keen to show you how to get the best out of your pastels, even sharing some of her trade secrets……
Carol’s teaching method is friendly and relaxed, and you will receive plenty of one-to-one tuition. All abilities are welcome from the novice artist, unsure how to start with their materials, through to experienced artists wanting to hone their skills. You are free to paint subjects of your choice under Carol’s guidance.

The holiday runs from 4pm on Sunday 13 September to 10am, after breakfast, Saturday 19 September (5 days’ tuition, 6 nights’ accommodation)

About the tutor

Carol Kibble spent years working for an insurance company, but always painted “on the Carol Kibble childrenside”.  Ten years ago, she took the plunge and left her salaried employment to become a self-employed artist. She now divides her time between painting for exhibitions, painting commissions and teaching.  Her preferred medium is pastel and she runs workshops and courses in this medium as well as demonstrating to art groups. It gives her enormous pleasure to watch her students progress from tentative beginners to confident pastellists.

Carol was brought up in Wales and has now returned to live there again.  Her favourite subject is British wildlife and painting animals.  However, recently, encouraged by her son who is a keen cyclist, she has also become known locally for her paintings of racing cyclists.
