10 – 13 May 2018

About the course

Discover fuss-free painting in acrylics, with Hashim Akib, using large, expressive brushstrokes, less obsessive drawing and multiple colour mixing directly on the canvas.

Themes will vary everyday, including landscapes, portraits, and with each subject you will discover new, contemporary approaches to drawing and painting. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced painter you will be guided all the way with short demonstrations and plenty of one-to-ones. So if you would like to discover how to mix ten colours on one brush this is the course for you!

Suggested Materials

Here is the list of the specific acrylic colours and brushes Hashim uses.  DON’T PANIC if you don’t have the exact colours, brand or brushes suggested as these are just recommendations, please bring along what you have.  Just about all acrylic brands are inter-mixable.

Reference: Feel free to bring your own photographs based on the theme of the workshop; however Hashim will have 2 – 3 folders of photographic references that you can work from.

Canvas/Pads: Hashim always works on canvas but if you would like to work from an acrylic or watercolour pad, or on primed board, that will be fine as well.

Hashim normally advises bringing along 2 canvases at least A3 in size, not any smaller, or an acrylic / watercolour pad.
